Job Vacancy: Pasture Fed Livestock Association

The Pasture Fed Livestock Association (PFLA) is looking for a experienced project manager to lead a two-year Farmer Mentoring project across the South East, covering the High Weald, Kent Downs and Surrey Hills AONBs.

This new full-time role is due to commence end of April 2022. It is supported by the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme, which gives grants for projects in England’s AONBs and National Parks. 

The salary will be in the region of £40k FTE. Experience of working with farmers, delivering mentoring and/or wider learning opportunities and successful reporting to project funders are vital.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Organising and promoting the programme – and the concept of mentoring – to generate interest and recruit participants across the three protected areas
  • Managing the recruitment, selection and matching process between mentors and farmers
  • Establishing reporting mechanisms that capture evidence and data to demonstrate success and feedback progress to Project Sponsor
  • Managing and monitoring expenditure in line with agreed budgets.
