Have you noticed something different at Bedgebury Pinetum?

35 poles and 2.4km of overhead power lines have been removed, thanks to a £300,000 project with UK Power Networks.
This project has dramatically enhanced the natural beauty of this special place, home to one of the world’s finest conifer collections, 🌲🌲 just in time for the centenary in 2025.

With unobstructed views now restored, visitors will be able to fully appreciate one of the Pinetum’s most iconic beauty spots, Marshalls Lake, particularly as they celebrate the Pinetum’s centenary in 2025. This project represents a fantastic achievement for landscape enhancement within the High Weald.

It was possible through a power line undergrounding scheme for nationally-important landscapes and successful projects are chosen by environmental experts on a regional steering group, including the High Weald National Landscape.
