Renewable Energy and Solar Car Kits are available for schools to hire, free of charge. Housed at various locations across the High Weald, the kits are available to hire for free (small deposit may be required).You will need to collect and return the kits from the Centres unless staff are in the vicinity of your school and are able to deliver.
Renewable Energy Kits
Suitable for Key stages 1-3 and designed to support various aspects of the Geography and Science National Curriculum, the kit is easy to assembly, interactive and engaging. Comprising of a wind turbine, water turbine and solar panel, the kit can effectively demonstrate how renewable energy can be transformed into light, sound and kinetic forms.
A renewable kit is kept at:
Woodland Enterprise Centre, Flimwell
Ashdown Forest Centre, Wych Cross
and Buchan Country Park (2 kits available).
Solar Car Kits
Have fun constructing and racing these model solar cars - helping children to think about the use of solar energy and recycled materials. Each kit makes one car, comes with full instructions and is suitable for KS2 and above. Kits are available from Buchan Country Park (2 available) and the High Weald AONB Unit (8 available) - contact details as above to arrange hire and collection.
