High Weald

L_026590Equally captivating in all four seasons, the Oasthouse Loft makes the perfect location for a romantic weekend or week away. Spot orchids in a carpet of wood anemones in late winter, stroll through our rich bluebell woods in late spring and wander between the foxgloves by the stream in summer. With only a handful of dwellings nearby, this holiday cottage is completely untouched by either noise or light pollution. Just feast on the fresh air and wallow in the silence.

This one bedroom holiday let, which is furnished to an exceptionally high standard, sleeps two and has a sofa bed for a further two in the living room. It forms part of the oasthouse and small, traditional farm which has been attractively arranged around a pond, shaded by grand old oak trees.

Having been reasonably locally raised and interested in the local landscape and history the owners are happy to share this knowledge with guests. (Only if they want hear about it).

A lifetime of farming has helped them appreciate and value the idyllic, picturesque and unique surroundings. They seek to preserve the best features of land use in their farming activities and develop farming methods that make a low impact on the land and thereby encourage the preservation of this ancient landscape. The owners readily have information available which describes the history of land use and how these features can still be widely seen today.

They consider this area to be unique because it is beautiful and tranquil and incredibly varied in that there is marshland, coastal cliffs, bird rich river estuaries, ancient woodland and grassland alongside the most delightful old houses and farm buildings with Oasthouses and manor houses - all unaffected by and within easy reach of London.

Guests can enjoy sensational early morning mists at sunrise, vivid coloured sunsets, stunning autumn colours and fabulous seas of bluebells all from the comfort of their accommodation.  There are plenty of countryside walks nearby and plenty of visitor attractions within easy reach such as Great Dixter, Kent and Sussex Railway and Bodiam Castle.
