Who is this event for?

This is an event for Natural England Farm Advisors, Forestry Commission Woodland Officers and High Weald Land Use advisors to look at a recent NFM project and to discuss woodland management, woody habitat expansion and deer management in the High Weald. There will be a demonstration of how the ‘SCALGO Live’ software is used to help design NFM projects.

Event Agenda:

10:00 – Meet at Sandy Cross Oast for NFM site visit (What3Words: gears.amending.rifled)

12:30 – Sandwiches at Cross-in-Hand Village Hall, Heathfield Road, TN21 0XG (What3words: potions.tumble.ratty) followed by presentation on NFM

15:00 – Depart.

Need to know:

    • Arrive at 10 a.m; please bring your own flask if you want tea/coffee
    • Please car share – this is very important as parking very limited and we’ll be using some of the neighbour’s parking (as well as helping the planet of course!)
    • Site is muddy and wet with steep slopes, please bring wellingtons and dress appropriately. Walking poles/stick will be useful
    • There are native daffodils on site – please stick to paths as far as possible
    • It is possible to leave cars at Cross-in-Hand Village Hall and car share from there

Lunch options

A selection of sandwiches and cakes including vegetarian will be available from the local bakery, otherwise please bring your own lunch.
